Multinational esports organisation Team Liquid has announced a partnership with charitable organisation UNICEF.
The two parties will collaborate on a range of initiatives that focus on UNICEF’s Sustainable Development Goal.
Unveiled during Team Liquid’s World Tour stop in London, the partnership will involve a range of activations, including a streaming campaign involving the organisation’s content creators beginning on November 20th. The organisation says it will reveal further details of the campaign during the broadcast.
Elsewhere, initiatives also include in-game integrations co-designed by the organisation and UNICEF.
“As a teenager, gaming taught me about new cultures, helped me develop a work ethic and gave me a goal to strive towards,” said Victor Goossens, Founder and co-CEO of Team Liquid. “Bringing these opportunities to young people is part of our mission, and we are honoured to represent UNICEF and work with them to support children worldwide in reaching their full potential.”
UNICEF is no stranger to the world of esports. In 2020, it joined forces with Fnatic for the Got Your Back campaign. The campaign saw the UK-based organisation host charity streams and content promoting positivity within the gaming and esports spaces.
Team Liquid’s Charitable Efforts
Throughout the organisation’s history, Team Liquid has collaborated with various partners on charitable initiatives. In 2021, it partnered with IMC to co-host a charity event where content creators took part in a 24-hour stream, with the money raised going to the non-profit organisation Room to Read.
More recently, Team Liquid continues to spread its message of ‘esports for all.’ In May, it reaffirmed its commitment by wearing a range of Pride jerseys during the Esports World Cup. The initiative raised money for LGBTQ+ projects across Europe, North America, and Brazil.
Gaming and esports have the ability to provide children with a platform to express themselves. With Team Liquid partnering with UNICEF, the initiative will raise awareness and open opportunities to inspire the next generation.
