The original film was based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel of the same name, following Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), a journalism graduate who moved to New York City and lands a very demanding job as junior assistant to Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of a high-fashion magazine.

Core four stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are officially returning for the sequel. Kenneth Branagh will join to portray the husband of Streep’s character Miranda Priestly, an intense fashion magazine editor.

Who else is behind The Devil Wears Prada 2?
Aline Bros McKenna, the scribe behind the first film, will return to pen the screenplay for the sequel. When Deadline first confirmed the sequel in development, we were told that the original film’s director David Frankel was in talks to return as well, and that original original producer Wendy Finerman would also be back.
