The main card opened with a let down for the partisan audience, as Kevin Borjas collected his first UFC victory by out-hustling Ronaldo Rodriguez. Mexican competitors won each of the next four contests, with hometown boy David Martinez kicking things off with a first-round stoppage win over Saimon Oliveira, followed by Raul Rosas Jr. out-wrestling Vince Morales to garner his fifth win in six trips into the Octagon.
Flyweight Edgar Chairez wobbled and submitted CJ Vergara, getting overcome with emotion following the first-round finish, with lightweight Manuel Torres earning an emphatic return to the win column by stopping American veteran Drew Dober in less than two minutes.
In the main event, Brandon Moreno finally collected his first UFC victory in Mexico City, earning a clean sweep of the scorecards in a competitive battle with Australian Steve Erceg.
