Riot Games has launched a cinematic trailer for its upcoming tag-team fighting game 2XKO, featuring Courtney LaPlante, the lead singer of metal band Spiritbox.

Titled Ties That Bind, the four-minute-long trailer features iconic League of Legends characters that make up the game’s playable roster, with intense fight sequences accompanied by strong vocals.

The cinematic features music sung and written by artist Courtney LaPlante. The cinematic theme is available for fans to download across all streaming platforms, such as Spotify.

Within the trailer, fans also got to see what may potentially be the game’s eleventh upcoming champion, Warwick. The monster of Zaun teamed up with Yasuo to fight Ekko and Ahri during the Ties That Bind cinematic, illustrating the game’s signature 2v2 nature. The trailer also featured another look at Blitzcrank and Illaoi near the end of the fight, other playable members of the roster.

    What is 2XKO?

Originally called Project L, 2XKO is the highly anticipated fighting game spin-off to the popular MOBA esports title and global phenomenon, League of Legends. It boasts a 2v2 setting featuring popular characters from the Summoners’ Rift, such as Vi, Jinx, and the recently revealed 10th champion, the Yordle scout Teemo.

The trailer also reminded fans that the game would exit its closed beta, which first launched on September 9th, and enter Early Access on October 7th, 2025, just a day after the cinematic was published.

It is set to be the first time that fans will get to experience the main frame of the FGC title, and will be accompanied by a full season of content, including combo trials, battle passes and ranked systems.

Riot Games also shared plans to sponsor 22 community-led 2XKO tournaments, including events in DreamHack, through the First Impact programme in an effort to foster and support an esports scene.
