Fighting game commentator and content creator Stephen ‘Sajam’ Lyon has partnered with Chipotle to host a 2XKO developer versus professional players exhibition match at Riot Games’ campus on September 19th.

The event, dubbed the ‘2XKO Arcade Takeover,’ will pit four professional fighting game players against four members of the 2XKO development team in Riot’s upcoming tag-team fighting game. The livestream will begin at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM BST and will be broadcast on Sajam’s Twitch channel.

Sajam, one of the most prominent commentators in the fighting game community, has been actively involved in other fighting game scenes throughout his career. He confirmed via social media that viewers will have opportunities to win free Chipotle during the broadcast.

“We’ve got a sick lineup on both sides and, you guessed it, free Chipotle to give away on stream, so you won’t want to miss it,” Sajam said.

Pros Competing in 2XKO Arcade Takeover Tournament

The professional team roster has been finalised with four players set to compete:

    • Supernoon
    • Cloud805
    • RedDittoXD
    • Jonathan Tene

According to the announcement, each match will feature two players from each team controlling a Champion in the tag-team format. The developer team roster has not yet been released.

While 2XKO is still in Closed Beta, the FGC is gearing up for a pretty big 2XKO esports scene due to Riot’s continued push. Steve ‘Supernoon’ Carbajal is already signed as a pro 2XKO player with Twisted Minds and has been streaming the game with names like William ‘Leffen’ Hjelte.

How to Watch 2XKO Arcade Takeover Tournament

The 2XKO Arcade Takeover tournament does not have a set format as of right now. It will take place on Friday, September 19th, at 2:00 PM PT / 10:00 PM BST, but it’s not clear yet how long it will be.

It will be streamed on Sajam’s Twitch channel and likely Riot’s official 2XKO Twitch channel. Chipotle will be given away on stream, according to Sajam, but it’s not yet clear how viewers can earn the rewards.

This marks another entry into fighting game esports for Chipotle, which has increased its presence in the competitive gaming scene throughout 2024 and 2025.

The fast-food chain has shown particular interest in fighting games, previously partnering with Tekken 8 and returning as a sponsor for Evo 2024. Esports organisation Disguised also partnered with Chipotle in 2024 to enter the Tekken 8 competitive scene. Additionally, Chipotle served as a sponsor for the Tekken World Tour 2024.

The 2XKO Arcade Takeover represents Chipotle’s continued venture into Riot Games’ upcoming fighter, which is still in development with no official release date announced. Chipotle’s continued involvement with 2XKO has been largely met with criticism, especially after a ‘cringe’ ad came out earlier this year. The FGC accused Riot of ‘selling out’ and trying to make 2XKO mainstream rather than appeal to fighting game fans.

Meanwhile, 2XKO has generated significant interest within the FGC community as the esports giant’s first foray into the fighting game genre, featuring champions from League of Legends in a 2v2 tag-team format.
