This medium-support sports bra is one editor’s go-to for running and Pilates classes. It has contoured cups that’ll give your boobs some lift and support, and it’s adjustable on the straps and band for a close fit.

The V-neck front and low-cut back allow your skin to breathe while you work up a sweat. But if you have bigger boobs, our tester says you might want a bra with more coverage (like the Airlift Empower Bra).

Best Shirt: Alo Airlift Winter Warm 1/4 Zip Long Sleeve

This shacket is perfect to layer under a ski jacket or wear on its own for a run. One SELF editor calls the brushed fleece interior “unbelievably soft” and says it has held up through a bunch of wash cycles. Made with polyester and elastane, it wicks sweat away from the skin to keep you comfy. Plus, the fabric is compressive around the arms and core, for a snug, flattering fit.

Best Sweatshirt: Alo Accolade Hoodie

Everyone needs at least one hoodie they can reach for on chilly days, and one SELF tester highly recommends adding this one to your closet ASAP. “I don’t usually opt for hoodies because I hate when they feel bulky and suffocating around my neck, but this one has plenty of breathing room and is so soft and stretchy,” she says.

“It has a nice, baggy, oversized feel without an excess of fabric, and the cuffs and waistband are just right. It’s definitely cozy, but won’t make you hot, and the fleecy interior is dreamy!”

Best Crew Neck: Alo Accolade Crew Neck Pullover

No sweatshirt collection is complete without a classic crew neck. Sick of the ancient one with your hometown mascot or college name on it? Swap it for this 2023 Activewear Award winner.

It’s made of a lightweight French terry that hangs nicely, especially in this slouchy, oversized silhouette. “It’s the perfect weight to throw over a sports bra when you’re commuting to and from your workout,” one tester says. “The inside is soft, and it’s roomy, but not so much that it looks frumpy.” That checks all of our boxes.

Best Windbreaker: Alo Vantage Nylon Ripstop Track Jacket

A windbreaker is a secret weapon—it’s super lightweight, so you can wear it during warmer months to keep water or wind from ruining your time outdoors (no overheating!). And when it’s cold out, you can layer a sweatshirt underneath this oversized Alo option to add some insulation.

“I wore it when it was drizzling and pretty windy, and I definitely felt warmer than I usually do, which is surprising because the material seems thin (another plus, since it’s easy to carry around in your backpack if you want to travel with it),” our tester says.

Best Jacket: Alo Foxy Sherpa Jacket

For something warmer (but less weatherproof), grab this teddy jacket. It’s warm, fuzzy, and giving your go-to layer a run for its money.

“You just want to live in it!” one SELF tester says. “It’s the perfect jacket to throw on for a few errands around town or even wear lounging around the house. It feels like a sweatshirt, but makes you look way more put together.” We also like that it has a removable hood to make it easier to pack (and lighter on your back) for long walks or hikes.

Best Hat: Alo District Trucker Hat

Not a hat person? This one might make you change your mind. The mesh back won’t trap heat or sweat (unlike a typical ball cap). And the adjustable snapback closure makes sure you get the right fit one that’ll stay put on windy days or outdoor workouts.

I also love the half-crew length—it’s not too high, not too low, and just right for wearing scrunched up or flat over leggings.”
