    TL;DR

    • Disclaimer: This article combines confirmed details with industry speculation. We’ll update it regularly as new info or leaks emerge.
    • The upcoming Fortnite live event, Death Star Sabotage, will take place on June 3, 2025, at 2 PM ET.
    • Death Star Sabotage will bring Galactic Battle to an end.
    • Parties of up to four players will be able to take part in Death Star Sabotage.
    • Logging in to the live event early is advised and will allow you to fly an X-wing or TIE fighter.
    • The duration of the live event is unknown, but some have estimated it could last 30 minutes.
    • Fortnite’s new season will arrive some days after the live event, on June 7.

After a month of hectic Fortnite Galactic Battle action in matchmaking not far, far away, the world’s favourite battle royale is readying for a new Fortnite live event.

With the foreboding Death Star’s charged laser focused on Battle Royal island, the latest Fortnite update confirms the date and time that the season will reach its end.

The Fortnite Death Star Sabotage event will mark the finale of the Star Wars Fortnite season and the end of Fortnite Chapter 6, which has been ongoing since December 1, 2024. With Chapter 7 (seemingly) just around the corner, let’s have a closer look at the Galactic Battle endgame and what to expect.

When will Fortnite Death Star Sabotage take place?

Fortnite Death Star Sabotage will take place on Saturday, June 7, at 2 PM ET, which was confirmed by Fortnite in a May 28 post on the official website. So that’s the date to mark if you want to help save BR island from the destructive Death Star.

For complete clarity, some time zones for the Fortnite live event are:

    • West Coast United States – 11 AM PT, June 7
    • East Coast United States – 2 PM ET, June 7
    • United Kingdom – 7 PM BST, June 7
    • Central Europe – 8 PM CET, June 7

However, even though the event starts at those times, the official site suggests you log in early. That’s because from two hours beforehand, at 12 PM ET, you will be able to pilot an X-wing or an Imperial TIE fighter up until the event kicks off. To access the event and this pre-event excellence, you’ll need to look for the ‘Death Star Sabotage’ tile at the very top of  Discover.

What’s included in the Fortnite Death Star Sabotage live event?

In terms of what’s included in the event, there are a few specific details, but the build-up makes the general direction more obvious. The event start time is when the Death Star will be “most susceptible to attack”, and Death Star Sabotage will put you and a party of up to four players into the fray to help destroy the Death Star and prevent the destruction of the current Fortnite map.

This Fortnite event looks set to be the most epic yet, and an apt way to close the curtains before a new Fortnite season emerges. There are things to be aware of in the run-up to the event, though, as just logging in from June 3 at 9 AM ET until after the event (June 10 at 9 AM ET) will unlock the Quicksilver Baton Spear Pickaxe. That means that item will be available for three days into Fortnite’s new season.

How long could the Fortnite Death Star Sabotage event be?

With Fortnite suggesting to log on early to fly an X-wing or TIE fighter, there is another reason to do so: the duration of the live event. Although we don’t know how long the Death Star Sabotage event will be, Fortnite live events have taken up to 20 minutes in the past, but it may be shorter.

So, although it will undoubtedly be epic, this Fortnite event may not last very long, and interest will be massive, too. So, logging in ahead of time is the best approach if you want to take part. After the event, players will likely go into a downtime screen before the start of the new season.

Will Death Star Sabotage end Galactic Battle?

Yes, indeed, the Death Star Sabotage Fortnite live event will end the current season and Fortnite Galactic Battle, an explosive finale that brings the current Star Wars Fortnite action to an end. Once the event has ended, this will likely be reflected both in downtime screens and in the Fortnite Server Status, as the game starts the transition to a new season.

What this new season will be is as yet unconfirmed, although various Fortnite news and leaks have suggested the new season will be ‘super’; we only know for sure that the season will begin on June 7. That’s to come, though; for now, if you want to take part in the Death Star Sabotage live event, add the June 3 date to your calendar and set your alarm and reminders to get in ahead of the action.

    Conclusion

The next Fortnite live event will bring Chapter 6: Season 3 to a close on June 3, before the next Fortnite update arrives on June 7. By then, Fortnite Death Star Sabotage may well be regarded as the most epic live event so far. You’ll only know for sure if you jump in a take part.
