The newly opened Ciel Dubai Marina has claimed the title of the world’s tallest hotel. The property, which opened on Nov. 15, 2025, rises 377 meters or nearly 1,237 feet, surpassing the former record holder, the Gevora Hotel, which stands at 1,174 feet and is also in Dubai.
The title is a fitting one. Ciel is the French word for “sky,” a nod to the hotel’s soaring 82 floors. The Ciel has 1,004 rooms and suites, each with floor-to-ceiling glass windows that offer views over the city. Rooms on the hotel’s higher levels have unobstructed views of the Dubai skyline and the Persian Gulf.

As Dubai’s new architectural landmark, the Ciel features a tapering glass façade and an open-air atrium that houses one of the world’s highest rooftop infinity pools, the Tattu Sky Pool on the 76th floor. The pool is complemented by a 24-hour skyline gym with floor-to-ceiling windows and a spa that’s set to open in February 2026.

The Ciel is located in the Dubai Marina neighborhood, a beachfront residential area known for the Dubai Marina Walk waterside promenade and The Beach at JBR, a beach and leisure complex. It is also near Dubai’s iconic tree-shaped Palm Jumeirah island. Guests of the Ciel Dubai Marina get access to the waterfront Soluna Beach Club on Palm Jumeirah.
The Ciel is also home to eight dining venues, including Tattu, an award-winning, UK-born concept that’s located on the 74th floor of the hotel. From there, the Tattu experience extends upward to the Tattu Sky Pool on floor 76 and the Tattu Sky Lounge on floor 81.
