Embark Studios appears to have stealth-added UFOs to Arc Raiders in the Shrouded Sky update, and fans think it’s a tease of what’s coming later down the line.

Spotted by Reddit user Bewarden, the short clip shows the player on Spaceport during the new hurricane map condition, where the weather is, as you’d expect, blowing a gale. As they look towards the launch tower, two bright lights shine through the clouds, flying at a much faster speed than anything we’ve seen from flying Arc enemies before. They also emit a low, growling sound from their engines, before soaring overhead and disappearing into the distance.

However, while at first glance they appear to be two separate vehicles, a freeze-frame shot from a user in the comments shows that it’s actually one enormous ship. There’s also an additional post from another user that slows down the original clip, showing it’s definitely one colossal entity. A comment on that post claims they saw it on Blue Gate too, although they didn’t share a screenshot or footage.

This isn’t the first time unknown Arc threats have been spotted outside of the map. To this day, on Blue Gate you can see enormous land-based Arc units slowly proceeding through the mountains. Nobody knows exactly what these are, but names thrown around in the community include King, Emperor, and Baron. The latter we at least know are real, thanks to the lootable Baron Husks found on most maps, although they look considerably smaller than the behemoths on the Blue Gate border.

We haven’t been able to interact with those Arc enemies yet, but the common consensus amongst the community is that they will be future bosses, along the same lines as the Queen and the Matriarch. They are considerably bigger, though, meaning they’ll be much tougher to take down. Is this colossal UFO Arc also another example of what’s to come, or is it just set dressing to provide deeper lore behind the Arc threat? Hopefully, we’ll find out soon.
