There are 12 legendary and mythical Pokémon in Pokémon Pokopia, with some of them being visitors you’ll only see in passing. However, you can actually recruit some of them to live on your island.
Legendary and mythical Pokémon affect your Environment Level more, so you’ll want to add these Pokémon to the different areas to get a nice boost. It’s also just funny to have a god-like being living in a house.
Below we explain where to find the various legendary and mythical Pokémon in Pokémon Pokopia.

Where to find Kyogre in Pokopia
Based on our testing, you can’t actually have Kyogre live among your other residents. It’s too big, probably.
You do register Kyogre in your Pokédex after finishing the “Yawn up a Storm!” important request, and Kyogre may occasionally call out to you in the water, making it rain in various areas. You can talk to them when they show up, but not much else happens.
Where to find Raikou, Entei, and Suicune in Pokopia
While you will register Raikou in your Pokédex after completing the “Brighten Things Up!” important request, you can actually have it inhabit your island if you find it on a Dream Island.
All three of the legendary beasts can be found on these islands:
- Raikou is on Ocean Dream island (Pikachu), in a room surrounded by metal blocks.
- Entei is on Volcanic Dream island (Arcanine), in a room surrounded by lava rocks.
- Suicune is on Wasteland Dream island (Eevee), in a room made of ice.
These legendary Pokémon are all found deep in caves on the island. Not every island will have a deep cave, but if you see the cracked, breakable brown rocks in your cave, that’s a pretty good sign. (Though it’s not a guarantee… we’ve had caves show us tons of these rocks and lead us to dead ends.)
Note that the chances of finding these beasts are pretty low. We had visited various islands dozens of times before our first (Raikou) actually showed up. So don’t feel bad if you’re striking out, just keep trying. Since you can only visit one Dream Island per day, you can time travel if you really want to see these dogs.
You can also find these beasts using a Ditto or Substitute doll, but if you’re looking for a specific one, you’ll want to use the specific doll listed above, since Ditto and Substitute take you to random islands.
Where to find Volcanion in Pokopia
You’ll register Volcanion in your Pokédex after completing the “Time to Party!” important request, but if you want to recruit it to live on your island, you’ll need to throw another party and launch fireworks during the party.
Here’s a step-by-step walkthrough on how to do this:
- Buy another cooking pot from the PC shop for 100 coins.
- Place the pot where you threw the original party in Rocky Ridges (for the sake of ease, as this place should be pre-decorated from your last party already).
- Put the party curry ingredients in the pot (15 Leppa Berries, 15 wheat, 15 beans, and 5 honey).
- Bring Chef Dente and four other Pokémon to the pot to help cook.
- Raise the mood to 100 by placing more decor or bringing over Pokémon with the Hype specialty, if you need to.
- Start cooking the curry and wait around 7 minutes for it to finish.
- Start the party once the curry finishes.
- Place a cannon (crafted from 1 iron ingot, 1 lumber, and 1 vine rope) and place a firework inside (crafted from 1 Pokémetal, 1 sturdy stick, 1 glowing stone, and 1 paint).
- Fire the cannon during the party and Volcanion should appear.
After Volcanion shows up, you can get it to follow you and move it into a house or habitat.
Where to find Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in Pokopia
Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres appear when you build very large building kits. These kits can be found in Palette Town, sitting on pedestals.
Once you get these kits, you’ll need to place them in an open area to build. Note that these kits are huge, and they’re easier to place in the wide-open fields in Palette Town, but you can place them anywhere. These seem to be one-and-done creations, so place them carefully, as you won’t be able to move them after without demolishing them block-by-block.

Note that these are not habitats for these Pokémon. After you go inside and meet them, they’ll register in your Pokédex, but they’ll still be considered homeless until you move them into a habitat or house.
Where to find Lugia in Pokopia
You may see Lugia flying overhead, dropping Silver Feathers, but you can befriend it and register it in your Pokédex, after you’ve met the other three legendary birds (Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres). After you register those three in your Pokédex, you’ll learn the recipe for the Tidal Bell.
To make the Tidal Bell, you’ll need five rare Pokémetal and five Silver Feathers. Place this item and ring it when Lugia is flying overhead to make the bird fly down and greet you. Just like Kyogre, Lugia doesn’t live on your island like the others, but it will show up in your Pokédex.
If you’re having a hard time finding Lugia, make sure that it’s cloudy or rainy. You can use a Rain Dance site habitat to make it rain to help assist with this.
Where to find Ho-oh in Pokopia
Getting Ho-oh is similar to how you get Lugia. Rather than the birds, you’ll need to register all three of the legendary beasts (Suicune, Raikou, and Entei) in your Pokédex. According to Serebii.net, you’ll unlock the recipe for the Clear Bell once you do this.
To make the Clear Bell, you’ll need five rare Pokémetal and five Rainbow Feathers. Place and ring this item when Ho-oh is flying around and it’ll land in front of you to chat. Just like the other huge Pokémon, Ho-oh doesn’t seem to actually want to move into a home, but it’ll register in your Pokédex.
If you’re struggling to find Ho-oh, make sure that the skies are sunny (or just clear, if it’s nighttime). You can use a Sunny Day site habitat to change the weather and clear the skies.
Where to find Mewtwo in Pokopia
Similarly to the legendary beasts, you can find Mewtwo in a cave on a Dream Island. While you will register it in your Pokédex after completing the “Rebuild the Huge Building!” important request, if you want it to live on your island, you’ll need to find it in a cave. (It’s likely that you need to finish this request before you can even find Mewtwo on a Dream Island.)
Notably, you’ll want to use a Dragonite doll to visit a Sky Dream Island (or have a Ditto or Substitute doll randomly take you there) in order to find Mewtwo. Mewtwo is found in a cave within an area that looks clearly more industrialized than the rest of the area.
Like the beasts, finding Mewtwo is pretty random, so it may take a few caves before you find it.
Where to find Mew in Pokopia
You can unlock the mythical Pokémon Mew after finding all the mysterious slates and putting them into the Unown shrine underground in the Withered Wasteland.
