Taskovski Films has picked up sales rights to Garry Keane’s “A Quiet Love,” which will have its world premiere at Doc Edge, an Oscar-qualifying documentary festival in New Zealand.
In the film, three Deaf couples share their love stories: a decades-long forbidden romance across a religious divide, an LGBTQI+ couple navigating parenthood with Deaf and hearing children, and a Deaf boxer and his hearing partner facing a life-altering choice. The film is described as a “cinematic celebration of resilience, connection, and enduring love.”
Irena Taskovski, CEO and head of acquisitions at Taskovski Films, said: “’A Quiet Love’ is a timely, uplifting story of connection across divides—between Deaf and hearing communities, across religious and cultural lines, and within LGBTQI+ families. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, inclusion programming, or peace and reconciliation anniversaries, this Irish documentary offers universal resonance and audience engagement at a time when we all need stories of love and understanding.”
The film is produced by Anne Heffernan at Curious North Productions and Seán Herlihy. The co-producers are John Webster and Uldis Cekulis.

Keane’s documentary feature credits include “Gaza,” which played at Sundance, and “In the Shadow of Beirut,” which was Ireland’s entry for the Oscars.
