As Snow White continues to face controversy and underwhelming box office numbers, Bill Maher is poking fun at the movie’s latest misfortune.

On Friday’s episode of Real Time, the comedian took a swipe at the Disney live-action adaptation after Lebanon banned the movie over Israeli star Gal Gadot, who is on the country’s boycott list.

“Now that Lebanon has announced it’s banning Snow White because it stars Gal Gadot, who was a sergeant in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), someone has to tell them, ‘You’re working too hard,’” he said during his ‘New Rules’ segment. “No one’s going to see that movie anyway.”

Bill Maher speaks on the 'Real Time' stage with a photo displayed next to him of himself, Donald Trump and Kid Rock in the White House.

Maher added, “And you’re not gonna settle 4,000 years of acrimony by crossing Gal Gadot. If you want 4,000 years of acrimony, you cross Blake Lively.”

Ahmad Hajjar, Lebanon’s Interior Minister, previously recommended the ban of Snow White over Gadot’s service with and support for the IDF. The country previously banned her other titles Death On The Nile and Wonder Woman.

Since opening in the US on March 21, Snow White has been both a critical and box office bomb, to the tune of a $115 million loss. In addition to Gadot’s IDF history, the film has faced controversy over co-star Rachel Zegler‘s criticism of Trump and the fact that she’s not white.
