EXCLUSIVE: Comedian, producer and director Brent Pella has announced the launch of Door 11 Studios, a new production company specializing in film, television, digital, and live events rooted in character-driven comedic storytelling.
Currently in development at the company is We Out Here, a scripted TV comedy created alongside frequent collaborator Blake Webber along with Happy Madison Productions. The concept is based on the viral sketches starring Brent and Blake as two blue alien characters who document their real-life experiences interacting with ordinary people and commenting on the culture and values we’ve come to consider human.
Next spring, Door 11 will enter production on Peaking, a comedy feature set at a remote music festival, where Pella will direct and co-star alongside comedy partner Nikki Howard.
Pella is best known for his viral online sketches and for touring nationally with his stand-up. A series regular on Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘n Out on MTV, he’s a graduate of the improv/sketch comedy programs at both UCB and Groundlings theaters and was recognized as a Creator to Watch at the 2023 New York Comedy Festival. Notably, he’s also amassed over a million followers and over a billion views across all social platforms.
With the launch of Door 11 Studios, Pella builds on a portfolio of produced and directed projects, which include multiple TV commercials and digital content campaigns for major brands, as well as a handful of short films and full-length comedy specials.
“Door 11 is intended to serve as a creative hub that facilitates the development and production of unique, engaging stories and projects that I and my team believe need to be brought into reality,” said Pella. “And I’m excited to build projects that not only entertain, but also celebrate — and satirize — the experience of our finite existence that we’re all flailing around trying to figure out.”
