    • Redfin named Prospect Heights and Clinton Hill in Brooklyn, New York, the hottest neighborhoods in the country this year.
    • The winning neighborhoods experienced a 105 percent change in year-over-year home sales, with a median sale price of $1,397,000.
    • Jenison, Michigan, and Campton Hills and St. Charles, Illinois, are second and third, respectively.

Are you living in the hippest, coolest, nay, hottest zip code in the U.S.? It’s time to find out.

Every year, Redfin releases its list of the top 10 hottest neighborhoods. To figure out which ones are on fire right now, the company identifies the zip codes of the 150 most populous metro areas and then analyzes their year-over-year growth in listing views on Redfin.com. It also considers each zip code’s Redfin Compete Score, a “measure of how difficult it is to win a home in a particular area based on factors including days on the market, the share of homes that sold above their listing prices, and sale-to-list price ratio,” the website explained.

This year’s hottest zip code is 11238, which is shared by the Prospect Heights and Clinton Hill neighborhoods in Brooklyn, New York City.

The zip code won due to its “mix of new apartment buildings and classic old brownstones,” as well as its convenient subway access to New York City. Together, the neighborhoods experienced a 105 percent change in year-over-year home sales, with a median sale price of $1,397,000, reflecting a 3.9 percent year-over-year growth.

“Whenever I have a listing in Prospect Heights or Clinton Hill, I expect at least one call from a serious buyer overseas,” New York Redfin Premier agent Ian Rubinstein said in the company’s report, noting that many buyers pay with cash for this area. “Given the prices and the wealth required to buy into these neighborhoods, clients are less concerned about high mortgage rates.”

Following closely behind Prospect Heights is Jenison, Michigan, which had 139 percent more views year-over-year.

“Jenison is only 15 minutes to downtown Grand Rapids, where you can catch a game or a show, yet it feels almost rural—there’s a lot of green space to move and grow,” local Redfin Premier agent Christine Kooiker reported. “Taxes are low, land is affordable, and the broader Georgetown Township is very open to new development. Every time I drive by, I see a new subdivision that’s half finished.”

And rounding out the top three are Campton Hills and St. Charles, Illinois, which had an impressive 133 percent growth in views.

“It feels like almost every home that hits the market in Campton Hills and St. Charles has multiple offers,” local Redfin Premier agent Cynthia Stolfe added. “Illinois is so flat, but there are some nice rolling hills here. I tell people it’s like living in a vacation town. In summer, you can go boating, or water skiing or kayaking, and there are parks and trails all along the river.”
