Evolving Eevee in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a process that works much the same as it does in previous Pokémon games, though getting the necessary materials is a bit different. You have immediate access to some of the basic Eevee evolution items as soon as you can freely explore Lumiose City, though one other is rather more challenging to come by. There’s also a fast, new way to raise friendship to get three of Eevee’s evolved forms.

Below, we explain how to evolve Eevee in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, including where to find the Ice Stone for Glaceon. And if you’re getting lost in the city’s alleys, keep our Pokémon Legends: Z-A interactive map handy.

How to evolve Eevee into Vaporeon

You’ll need a Water Stone to turn Eevee into Vaporeon, and you can get one for $3,000 from the Stone Emporium on Vernal Avenue, just north of the research lab. You can also find a few in spots around the city if you want to save the cash, but it’s much faster to just buy one.

Evolving Eevee into Jolteon requires a Thunder Stone. Like the other basic elemental stones, you can buy it for $3,000 at the Stone Emporium or find them around the city.

Eevee evolves into Flareon using a Fire Stone. It costs $3,000 at the emporium, but can be found around the city like the other stones.

How to evolve Eevee into Espeon

Eevee evolves into Espeon during the day when its friendship level is high enough. You’ll know Eevee likes you enough to evolve anyway when you see an arrow next to it in the party menu, the same as when a Pokémon that evolves by leveling up reaches the right level. Make sure your Eevee does not know Disarming Voice (or any other fairy-type move) when you evolve it, or else it’ll turn into a Sylveon instead.

You can raise Eevee’s friendship (or any Pokémon’s friendship) by leveling them up and bringing them around with you on your journeys. Giving them a Soothe Bell to hold will also speed up their gains. If your Eevee joins your visit to cafés and sits with you while you have a drink, it’ll gain a ton of friendship even faster.

There’s a friendship checker NPC on Autumnal Avenue at the Pokémon-Amie cafe (shown below), but she only shows up in the very late game.

How to evolve Eevee into Umbreon

Eevee evolves into Umbreon at night when its friendship level is high enough. You can use the same methods listed above for Espeon, but just make sure to get rid of any fairy-type moves on it and evolve it at night.

How to evolve Eevee into Leafeon

Use the Leaf Stone to turn Eevee into Leafeon. These also show up on rooftops in a few locations, though similarly to the other evolution stones mentioned, you can just buy one from the Stone Emporium for $3,000.

How to evolve Eevee into Glaceon

Getting Glaceon requires you to use an Ice Stone on Eevee, which sounds straightforward like the other methods — but there’s a catch. You won’t be able to buy it from the Stone Emporium (for $3,000) until the post-game. That being said, you can find them in the locations below, with the star symbol indicating where the Poké Ball is:

How to evolve Eevee into Sylveon

Eevee evolves into Sylveon when its friendship level is high enough and it knows a fairy-type move. Eevee should learn Disarming Voice, a fairy-type move, at level 15, which seems to be the level Eevee spawns at when it appears. You may need to reteach it the move if it doesn’t already know it.
