Iceage frontperson Elias Rønnenfelt has announced his second solo album, following last year’s Heavy Glory. Speak Daggers arrives October 17, via Escho, and features reggae all-timers the Congos and Copenhagen artists Erika de Casier and Fine. Watch the Fousheé-directed video for new single “USA Baby,” which samples Bassekou Kouyate and Ngoni Ba’s “Miri,” below.
Rønnenfelt and Fousheé recently linked up on “Little Gods,” one of two songs Rønnenfelt recorded with Yung Lean, who operated under his Jonatan Leandoer96 alias. Since then, the Iceage man has reunited with his Lucre collaborators, Dean Blunt and Vegyn, for “Tears on His Rings and Chains.” And, for anyone curious about the Congos collaboration: It came about when Rønnenfelt visited the band in Jamaica a few years ago, an Escho representative told Pitchfork.
