EXCLUSIVE: The man credited with creating the iconic Pokémon “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” tagline is to oversee a new kids content outfit from Korea‘s Aanaxion Studio.

Norman Grossfeld, who co-wrote and produced most of the Pokémon movies, is leading Seoul and L.A.-based Konfetti Studios, which has launched with a development slate and a core team of five staff.

Konfetti is attempting to “leverage Grossfeld’s expertise with the surging worldwide demand for K-content,” Aanaxion said. It will make original kids and family IP, starting with animation and multiplatform content while maximizing global licensing and consumer products.

Konfetti kicks off with a slate including Nanopop, bringing together the “biggest pop stars in the world [who] have a giant TINY secret,” Sumomojo, about outrageous collectible creatures, and Hugglebops, a playful preschool universe where everyday moments turn into magical musical adventures.

Based in Seoul and L.A., Aanaxion has quietly assembled a business that is aiming to produce three to four films or series annually. The studio is currently working on Protector starring Milla Jovovich and Thieves Highway with Aaron Eckhart.

Grossfeld was previously EVP TV Animation at Legendary Entertainment and was a longtime President of 4Kids Productions. While at the latter, he worked across Pokémon and helped drive global hits including Yu-Gi-Oh!, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sonic the Hedgehog and Winx Club.

“Konfetti is built for today’s audience,” said Grossfeld. “We’re designing brands that celebrate kids, spark smiles, and get their toes tapping. Fresh IP made for their world, filled with fun and built to travel.”

Aanaxion President Bong-Seob Mun added: “Seeing our long-term planning and collaboration with Norman come to fruition has been both a joy and deeply rewarding. He’s a big kid with big ideas, and his passion for creating unforgettable content is contagious. I’m excited for the world to see what we’re building together.”
