Brazilian esports organisation Legacy has announced that it has placed Counter-Strike 2 in-game leader Lucas ‘lux‘ Meneghini on the bench.

The move follows an early elimination from IEM Kraków 2026, where the team failed to win a match during the Play-In.

Announced on February 2nd, the organisation revealed that lux remains under contract, alongside advising interested parties to get in contact. Notably, Legacy hasn’t shared information on who will take over the role of the in-game leader or replace the player in the roster.

Due to the immediate nature of the change, Legacy will compete with the team’s coach, Bruno ‘RiVAS‘ Rivetti, as a stand-in for the upcoming Tier 1 CS2 tournament, PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026.

Legacy burst onto the Tier 1 Counter-Strike scene in 2025 as a last-minute replacement at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, defeating Team Vitality in Stage 3. Following the Major, the team struggled to replicate the form until October, when it achieved victory at the CS Asia Championships and a second place at PGL Masters Bucharest.

Its Kraków campaign faltered at the first hurdle, with defeats to BC.Game and FUT Esports without managing to win a map, marking a disappointing start to the 2026 season.

    What’s Next for Legacy?

Following elimination from IEM Kraków, Legacy doesn’t have long before it returns to action at PGL Cluj-Napoca.

Taking place from February 14th to 22nd, 16 teams will compete at the event for a share of a $625,000 (~£457,606) prize pool and Valve Regional Standings (VRS) points that determine which teams earn a place at the IEM Cologne Major in June.

With two weeks until Legacy’s next match, the Brazilians have a short amont of time to integrate its coach into the starting lineup as it looks to avoid another disappointing performance at a high-profile event.
