Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls had a new demo at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, making Spider-Man and Ghost Rider playable for the first time.

Over in Japan, the FGC had its first hands-on experience with Spider-Man and Ghost Rider, bringing the roster for the 4v4 to eight. While there’s still a long way to go to reach its rumored 35-hero roster for release, players are overall impressed with the movesets and gameplay for the two newest heroes.

Spider-Man and Ghost Rider Movesets Revealed

X user Marvel Tōkon Intel was able to gather screenshots from the gameplay experience at the Tokyo Game Show, including the movesets for Spider-Man and Ghost Rider.

Spidey has a lot of web-based moves that allow him to swing around the stage, using Web Zip to kick opponents after changing his trajectory. It seems like Spider-Man will most definitely be an aggressive and in-your-face fighter that keeps players on their toes. Special moves like Web Shot and Arachnid Assault can be used while in the air, suggesting a playstyle that relies on constant movement around the map.

“He’s a well-rounded character with excellent mobility,” the description from the Marvel Tōkon booth. “Even just this one move [Web Zip] allows for versatile range of actions!”

One of the most notable things about Ghost Rider’s playstyle is his Vengeance Gauge, which builds up a boost when he’s in the red zone. While he’ll be stronger in this dangerous situation, he is left vulnerable if the gauge fills up entirely. Players will need to strategize their playstyle to raise and lower the meter as needed.

Developers explain in his description that Ghost Rider’s sythes make him ‘excel from mid-to-far range.’ Ghost Rider will be more about controlling the positioning on each map, keeping himself at a safe distance that allows him to overwhelm opponents.

When Esports Insider tested out Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls at Evo 2025, developers noted that they have plenty of plans for different heroes and villains to add to the fighting game. However, they want to ensure that each hero added brings a different playstyle and works in a 4v4 fight.

It’s a similar issue to 2XKO, which has struggled to release champions in a manner that the FGC would consider appropriate. When there are multiple fighters on a team, developers have to make sure they can work cohesively together while remaining balanced with the entire roster.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is set to be released in 2026.
