Silver Cast Creations has unveiled “Maa Vande,” a biographical film chronicling the life of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with Malayalam-language cinema actor Unni Mukundan set to portray the political leader.

The announcement was timed to coincide with Modi’s birthday, Sept. 17, with producers positioning the project as a grand-scale production featuring international standards and cutting-edge VFX technology.

According to the filmmakers, the biopic will trace Modi’s journey “from childhood to becoming the leader of the nation,” with particular emphasis on his relationship with his late mother, Heeraben Modi, who is described as “an unparalleled source of inspiration throughout his journey.”

Mukundan is known for his work in Malayalam cinema including action films like “Marco” and “Garudan.”

Kranthi Kumar C.H. is set to write and direct the project, with Veer Reddy M. producing under the Silver Cast Creations banner. The technical team includes cinematographer K.K. Senthil Kumar, composer Ravi Basrur, editor Sreekar Prasad, and production designer Sabu Cyril. King Solomon will handle action sequences.

The production plans call for a pan-India release with versions in multiple languages, including English, with the stated goal to “deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience to audiences through this inspiring biopic.”

Executive producers Gangadhar N.S. and Vanisri B. are attached to the project, along with line producer T.V.N. Rajesh and co-director Narasimha Rao M.

Omung Kumar’s 2019 biopic “PM Narendra Modi” featured Vivek Oberoi as the Prime Minister. Political biopics have emerged as a notable trend in Indian cinema, with recent titles including “The Accidental Prime Minister” on former PM Manmohan Singh, “Thackeray” on Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, and “Main Atal Hoon” on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
