Pokémon Go is running a royal-themed event, “Crown Clash,” that started May 10 and will run through May 18. The event features Nidoqueen and Nidoking wearing crowns, as well as the debut of Kingambit, the evolution of Bisharp.
In addition to the special spawns and stuff, there’s also a bonus that rewards doubled XP for evolving Pokémon. You also can find shiny versions of the crown-wearing Nidoqueen and Nidokings at an “increased chance,” alongside Slowpoke, Combee, and Litleo. Catching a Slowpoke may also net you a King’s Rock evolution item.

Completing the Collection Challenge will also net another bonus: All trainers level 31+ will get a guaranteed Candy XL for evolving Pokémon.
