“This is an incredibly stressful time, and right now, my focus is on my Dad,” wrote Ronnie’s son Tyler on Facebook

Ronnie McDowell is headed home. The 75-year-old country musician was hospitalized in Pennsylvania over the weekend after he was seen slurring his words onstage during a show at the Summer Solstice Music Festival in Oley. Now, his son says he’s been discharged.

McDowell’s tour manager told Nashville local outlet WKRN over the weekend that the musician — known for songs “Older Women,” “The King Is Gone,” and “Bad Reputation — was “not making sense” onstage after playing three or four songs. The tour manager paused the show, asked McDowell to the side of the stage, and asked if he was OK, to which McDowell told him “no,” per the outlet.

McDowell’s son Tyler Dean shared an update on Facebook Saturday night, voicing his concern for his father’s health. “I promise—no one is more worried than I am,” Tyler wrote. “Please understand, this is an incredibly stressful time, and right now, my focus is on my Dad. If there’s anything that needs to be shared, I promise—we will.”

Early on Sunday, he shared another update that he had made it to Pennsylvania and that McDowell was “talking to us.” Then, on Monday morning, he posted that McDowell had been discharged. “I have dad in the car and we are on our way home! Me and/or Ronnie Dean, will give an update soon,” Tyler wrote.

The McDowells have yet to share an exact cause for the hospitalization, but promised to keep fans updated as more information became available. McDowell’s Facebook page last shared a photo of the singer with the caption, “Please keep Ronnie in your thoughts and prayers. The Family is updating on their personal platforms.”
