What is the TFT Paris Open?
The competition’s main event will see over 768 players, a 50% increase from past year’s events, gather to decide this season’s champion.
The Paris Open features five different rounds, funnelling of pool of competitors until only eight players remain in the Final Lobby. The last round includes a Checkmate format, where once a player reaches 20 points, they place the rest of the lobby in check, and must then win a game to be crowned the champion.
The winner will take home the lion’s share of a $300,000 (~£228,600) and hoist the Tacticians Belt on stage in Paris, France. However, prize money will still be distributed to the top 128 players, with amounts ranging from $450 (~£337) for the bottom 63 players to $25,000 (~£18,720) for the runner-up.
