These Comfy Vionic Shoes Are Packable and Versatile

As a city dweller who regularly walks 10,000 steps a day, I live in sneakers. But that doesn’t mean you’ll catch me walking down New York City blocks in my gym shoes. Instead, I’m always looking for sleek sneakers that match more elevated outfits while still keeping my feet pain-free. 

When I wore out my old slip-on sneakers, I turned to Vionic for an upgrade since it’s one of my go-to brands for shoes that combine style and comfort. The podiatrist-approved brand was also previously on Oprah’s Favorite Things list for three consecutive years—and as a former photo shoot assistant for Oprah, I take her picks very seriously. Vionic’s Colbie Sneakers checked all the boxes, so I eagerly ordered them to arrive in time for upcoming travel plans.

What sets these shoes apart is their smart design. They slide on and off with ease to make travel days a breeze. While most slip-on sneakers don’t have laces, this style features a sleek leather upper with bungee laces for a more stylish look. I ordered the silver colorway and was instantly captivated by the high-shine hue in person, but the shoes also come in black and white. No matter which style you choose, they’re neutral enough to match anything in your travel wardrobe.

From first wear, the Colbie Sneakers were comfortable enough for city streets. The footbed is made with the brand’s Vio Motion Technology, which includes contoured arch support, shock absorption, and stability. The cushioning feels soft while hugging your feet for extra support. 

My feet felt so good in these sneakers that I packed them for a Chicago trip the same week I received them. With limited time in the city, I decided to skip public transportation and walk whenever possible to fit in more sightseeing. I walked from my downtown hotel, The Gwen, to the Riverwalk to see the Bean, continuing to the Skydeck to peer over the iconic Ledge. All the while, I could basically feel these sneakers molding to my feet. After walking just over 10,000 steps in them, my feet still felt pain-free at the end of the day. Plus, while they’re designed to be lightweight and breathable, they also kept my feet warm on a cold, windy Chicago day.

As if I couldn’t be happier with my shoe selection, I also received several compliments on my outfit throughout the day. I paired my Colbie Sneakers with cream cargo pants that I would have typically worn with cream or white shoes, and the silver sneakers gave my outfit an extra special touch.

Since that Chicago trip, these sneakers have become one of the most-worn shoes in both my travel and at-home wardrobes. I’ve paired them with everything from sundresses in Ecuador to athleisure in Central Park. In fact, I wear them so frequently that they’re sitting by my door instead of being put away neatly in my closet.  

While I consider these sneakers more of a splurge at $145, the high-quality, durable materials make them worth it. As a long-time Vionic fan, I know firsthand that its shoes only get more comfortable with time. Plus, a match-everything sneaker is a wardrobe staple you’ll wear frequently.

My only complaint with these sneakers is that they run a bit small. I originally tried my usual size 6, but they felt snug, so I ended up going with the 6.5, and they fit perfectly. However, I will note that since these sneakers are made from leather, they will stretch to fit better over time.

Unsurprisingly, I’m not the only fan of these comfortable sneakers. Reviewers rave about their overall comfort, design, and support.
