As a travel writer, one of the practices I’m most dedicated to is preparing myself for a red-eye flight. Getting a restful sleep is non-negotiable for me, and you would know this immediately if you peeked into my personal item bag, where you would find melatonin, eye masks, and sleepy-time tea bags I keep packed in there. However, there is one travel accessory that is my standout hero item for sleeping on a flight: my Dot&Dot Twist Memory Foam Travel Pillow.

Not only does the pillow’s memory foam lull me into a restful slumber, but it also protects my neck from bobbing forward as I fall asleep. Plus, it stops my skin from breaking out, thanks to its washable, removable pillowcase. Speaking of the pillowcase, if you run into an overpacking emergency, you can remove the pillow insert and pack some of your other items into it. Right now, you can save up to 44 percent on this memory foam travel pillow, which will help give you the most priceless thing: a good night’s sleep.

The Dot&Dot Twist Memory Foam Travel Pillow features a washable cotton cover and a memory foam insert. Unlike traditional U-shaped neck pillows you can buy at an airport gift shop, this pillow provides personalized support by twisting and contouring to almost any shape or position you need for support and pain relief. The memory foam provides luxurious comfort that your muscles will love sinking into.

I had a small ski accident when I was in middle school, and 16 years later, I still have a tender neck that I can easily strain. Nothing ruins a travel experience like sore muscles at the start of your trip, so it’s imperative to use a supportive pillow to prevent this from happening. Since I bought this pillow, I haven’t had neck pain from bobbing my head as I fall asleep or from using a cheap neck pillow.

I, like many others, have become more conscious of germs since the 2020 pandemic, which is how I found this pillow at Amazon two years ago. I was on the hunt for a travel pillow with a removable pillowcase that I could wash between my trips so I could stay healthy and help keep my skin from breaking out. Not only did I find comfort in knowing my pillow was clean, but it also helped keep my skin clean, which was almost guaranteed with my old, unwashable pillow.

This pillow is available in six cute shades, so you can make sure it matches your luggage or your favorite go-to travel outfit, keeping your airport fashion game top-notch. The Dot&Dot Twist Memory Foam Travel Pillow also features a snap closure, which makes it extremely easy to carry by attaching it to your luggage, purse, or backpack. This also allows you to secure the pillow around your neck or, if you’re traveling in a car, to your headrest.

With over 15,000 reviews on Amazon, people can’t stop talking about this amazing pillow. One five-star Amazon reviewer used this pillow on two 40-hour Amtrak train rides. They said, “Since the pillow is flexible, I used it as an armrest, neck pillow, and ankle support. I wasn’t sure I’d like it, but it’s actually very comfortable, and I love that it’s versatile. I use it even when I’m not traveling.”

Another five-star Amazon reviewer claims that their travel partner, who traveled with a $70 neck, was “extremely jealous” of the reviewer’s Dot&Dot Twist Memory Foam Travel Pillow, and has since bought their own. They never wore the pillow around their neck in the typical fashion, instead they would fold it and lean on it against the plane window, or unfold it and hug it like a body pillow, their head resting on top of it. They found that the “inner wire was sturdy enough to keep the pillow in place, but the surrounding plush made it squishy enough to be comfortable” in any position.

For more comfortable travel pillows, keep reading to find others available atAmazon starting at $14.
