For 10 years, Iron Mountain Hot Springs’ terraced hot spring pools along the Colorado River have allowed guests to travel to Iceland, Japan, and Bali without walking more than a few feet. The World Springs pools mirror famous springs around the world—from the Blue Lagoon to the Dead Sea—and are located in the mountain town of Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
Now, the Iron Mountain Hot Springs’ World Springs are joined by the most diverse sauna collection in the U.S., aptly named the Sauna Summit. The Sauna Summit brings together five globally inspired saunas that mirror rituals like the Turkish hammam and the South Korean hanjeungmak with a series of contrasting cold plunge pools. The Sauna Summit opened to the public on Feb. 26, 2026.
“By introducing sauna culture, cold plunges, and intentional contrast therapy, we’re expanding the experience beyond soaking and offering new ways for people to recover, reset, and feel their best,” Aaron McCallister, general manager of Iron Mountain Hot Springs, said in a release shared with Travel + Leisure. “It allows guests to reset their bodies through intentional wellness experiences or simply spend the day together in a beautiful setting, positioning Iron Mountain as a destination for both wellness enthusiasts and those seeking a more social, elevated way to unwind.”
Each sauna in the Sauna Summit draws inspiration from global rituals. The Steam Room mirrors the humid heat of a Turkish hammam, while the Traditional Sauna is inspired by the dry heat of the Finnish barrel sauna. The property’s Red Light Clay Sauna is inspired by the South Korean hanjeungmak, which uses radiant heat and red light, and the Aromatherapy Sauna mimics the herbal-infused heat of the Russian banya. The Salt Sauna, which draws inspiration from the Polish salt room, rounds out the “summit.”
In addition to mirroring the temperature and style of these global rituals, the Sauna Summit considers things like architecture, light, and scent.
The goal of the Sauna Summit is to work with Iron Mountain Hot Springs’ geothermal mineral pools to elevate recovery and restoration. Guests can move at their own pace through the property’s vast collection of global bathing rituals, from hot soaking tubs to saunas to plunges. Iron Mountain Hot Springs’ guided circuits through the pools and saunas can help with things like muscle recovery, nervous system regulation, and stress reduction.
The Sauna Summit is now open and access to the collection is included with a Premier Access pass, which starts at $68 for the day and is for visitors who are 21 and over. The Select Access pass starts at $48 and is for guests under the age of 21 and does not include access to the Sauna Summit or the World Springs pools. By buying your pass online, in advance, you save $5 when compared to the walk-in rate.
